Dear 91Ƶ Community,

It is with great pleasure, on behalf of the 91Ƶ Board, to write to formally congratulate the College on another outstanding School Review report and achievement outcome. We also specifically acknowledge the sustained efforts and enthusiasm of the staff maintaining a positive culture over many years.

The review affirms what our community knows and experiences each day — that 91Ƶ is a school of exceptional quality, integrity and impact. The commendations within the review speak to the strength of leadership, the dedication of staff, and the depth of commitment to students across Years 7–12. The clear alignment between vision, culture and classroom practice is evident, and the reviewers’ recognition of the College’s inclusive ethos and high expectations is richly deserved.

Importantly, this success is not isolated to one domain. The College continues to demonstrate sustained academic excellence while also achieving remarkable results in sport, debating and wider co-curricular pursuits. This breadth of achievement reflects a school culture that values the whole learner and recognises that excellence takes many forms.

91Ƶ does not simply meet expectations — it consistently exceeds them. The College lives well beyond the notion of merely “meeting the mark”; it sets the mark for others. The standards established in teaching, learning, student wellbeing and performance are a credit to the entire community.

The Board particularly acknowledges the continual excellent leadership of the principal, and the collective superlative efforts of the executive and senior leadership team, all teachers, support staff and, of course, students. The culture of Care, Curiosity and Collaboration is clearly embedded and continues to translate into tangible outcomes for young people.

We convey the Board’s sincere congratulations and appreciation to all members of the 91Ƶ community. This achievement strengthens the College’s standing as one of Western Australia’s leading schools and reinforces its role as a model of inclusive excellence.

Yours sincerely,

Leanne Potter PSM

Chair – 91Ƶ Board

Dear 91Ƶ Community

We are delighted to be able to share with you the report that our College has received following our external review at the end of last year.

All Western Australian public schools are reviewed by the Department of Education’s School and Principal Review directorate. A review gives assurance to the local community, the Minister for Education and the Director General about the performance of public schools in delivering high quality education to students. The review acknowledges the achievements of the school and gives feedback to support the Principal and staff with their improvement planning.

Initially conducted on a 3 year cycle, subsequent reviews are determined to occur on a one, 3 or 5 year timeframe.

Our reviewers – Joanne Harris (Director, Public School Reviews) and Damien Shuttleworth (peer Reviewer and Principal, Carine SHS) – were highly complimentary of our school community and praised the school for creating a learning environment ‘underpinned by a shared moral purpose to deliver a caring, compassionate and supportive school environment where all students have the opportunity to reach their fullest potential … comprehensive structures, supports and processes are in place for students to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.’

In his endorsement of the Review Report, Deputy Director General – Schools, Steve Watson, also congratulated the work of our ‘school leaders and your staff for placing your school among the most exemplary learning environments. The wellbeing of all stakeholders is clearly prioritised, with high expectations for student achievement set and carefully monitored.”

The Report offered recommendations for future planning, that align closely with our soon to be released new Business Plan, looking at the areas of Middle Leadership development, Career Education and our internal instructional tools that will continue to support the high quality teaching and learning practices within the school.

The next external review of the school will be in 2030.

We are proud to be able to share this report with our community.

Mike Morgan, Principal

14 students from 91Ƶ were selected to represent Shenton and the UWA Boat Club at the 2025 Australian Rowing Championships in Tasmania. These 14 students have trained upwards of 9 times per week for the past 6 months, whilst juggling schooling, including exams. The athletes have averaged over 60km rowing per week, starting their days before 5:00am.
On Friday 21st March, the Shenton rowers departed Perth, bound for Tasmania. They were accompanied by two coaches, Shenton alumni Jake Sangster and Maisy Dawson, along with numerous other Shenton alumni representing the UWA Boat Club in an athlete capacity.
The regatta took place at Lake Barrington International Rowing Course over a full week, with some tough Tassie conditions to contend with, and our student achieved some amazing results.

Sam Lewis
Cooper Wood
